Thomas Pacia

Tom has been coaching baseball at the high school level for thirteen years, twelve of which was spent at the Varsity and JV levels.  In that time, he helped guide the La Salle Rams JV baseball team to 5 division/state championships and the Varsity team to 2 state finals appearances.  He has experience coaching youth athletics in a variety of ages and sports, including North Providence Babe Ruth Baseball, and youth indoor soccer. Tom is a teacher at La Salle, a position he has also held for the past eleven years.  Over the course of his coaching career, Tom has helped develop a number of All-Division and All-State players, with many more going on to have successful college careers. His coaching philosophy is centered on the mastering of fundamentals, personalized instruction, and promotion of a team first atmosphere. More than anything else, Tom believes in the power of personal relationships and trust within a team or organization.

Mike has been coaching and playing both baseball and basketball for most of his life.  

He is a 2004 La Salle Academy Alumni, having played basketball and baseball for the Rams, where he was a McDonald's All-American Nominee and a Defensive Player of the Year winner.  After La Salle, he played Collegiately at Nationally Ranked DeSales University.   

His coaching resume is no less impressive:  3 Varsity Division I Basketball Championships,

1 JV State Basketball Championship, and 4 JV Division/State Baseball Championships.  

This past season, he helped guide the La Salle Rams Varsity Basketball team in winning both the Division 1 tournament and Rhode Island State Open Championship, the first team in history to complete such a feat.  Mike is an educator at La Salle, and continues both Basketball and Baseball at the Varsity, JV, and Freshman levels.  His coaching philosophy places emphasis on fundamentals, work ethic, and promotion of team camaraderie.

Stephen Emerson

Stephen graduated from the University of Rhode Island where he studied business and finance. After college he spent time in Florida working in various aspects of the golf industry and participating in amateur golf tournaments.  He returned to Rhode Island in 2011 to begin a career as an educator at La Salle Academy.  Stephen believes that the individual and team building skills taught in athletics also help develop an athlete in all areas of their life.  It is this philosophy that drives his coaching and teaching.  

 

John Palazzo, CPA, MBA

John has been coaching and playing basketball and baseball for a majority of his life. 

He is a 2002 graduate of La Salle Academy in which he played soccer, basketball, and baseball.  He was an All-Division basketball player will playing for the Rams.  After La Salle, John graduated from Sacred Heart University receiving his degree in Accounting.  John also is a certified public accountant and holds his masters in business administration.  He was been a part of the La Salle boys basketball coaching staff since 2013 and he helped guide the Rams to 2 Varsity Division I Basketball (2014, 2015) Championships and the past season the 2015 Rhode Island Open Championship.  John is a coach because it is his passion.  He is able to foster growth of his players by emphasizing communication, to be responsible and hold themselves accountable."

 

Tom Darnowski

Tom is a 2008 graduate of La Salle Academy, served as a Varsity Baseball captain his Senior year, and was awarded both All-Division and All-State honors during his time with the Rams.  He continued his playing career at St. Anselm College until a recurring elbow injury prematurely ended his college play. Tom is currently a Middle School science teacher at the San Miguel School in Providence.  He holds a number of responsibilities at the school, including Head Coach of the Middle School baseball team and Assistant Coach of the golf team. Tom is a masterful instructor of the game and has extensive experience coaching and working with younger players regarding fundamentals and mechanics.  He is an experienced instructor for both pitching and hitting. He has a number of duties for Hive Athletics, which includes running clinics and coaching various teams.  He recently served as the 16U Fall Team head coach, and is currently the Head of the 14U Swarm program.  

 

Dylan Nardowy

Dylan graduated from North Smithfield High School in 2014 where he earned All-Division Honors in Soccer, Football, Hockey, and Baseball over his high school career. He continued his education and baseball career at Dean College. In the summer of 2015 he participated in the Beach Collegiate Baseball League in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He now attends the University of Rhode Island where he continues to work towards a degree in Education. This past year Dylan took on the role of Head JV baseball coach at North Kingstown High School. In his first season, he coached the skippers to a divisional championship and a spot in the state tournament. He is excited to take on the 15U team this year and looks forward to working with players who strive to get better and have a passion for baseball.

Heather has been coaching, running clinics and providing private pitching instruction in RI, CT, MA and PA since the completion of her career as a pitcher/outfielder for the University of Rhode Island and is currently coaching at Westerly Middle School.  She grew up in Slatington PA and played FASTPITCH since the age of eight. Coached her entire career by Ty Stofflet, a men's FASTPITCH phenomenon. Caught by her father, who pitched 104 mph for the famous traveling team "King and his Court". Heather has pitched in ( 6 ) ASA National Tournaments (now known as USA Softball), these tournaments were held in Tulsa OK, Ft. Worth TX, Sacramento CA, Richmond VA, Columbus GA, and at the Disney Sports Complex in Orlando FL. To qualify for these tournaments, she pitched her teams to ( 2 ) PA State Championships and ( 4 ) Regional Qualifier Championships, ranking 15th / ASA Pitcher in the country at the Tulsa OK Nationals. She still holds a PA State record for 36 consecutive innings pitched without a walk.  In high school she pitched in ( 3 ) PIAA Eastern Final Games and was the Eastern PA All Stars MVP her senior year. With a 4 year pitching cum. ERA of 0.54 along with 4 year cum. batting  avg. of 470.  Heather has a passion for teaching and passing on her knowledge and the history of FASTPITCH. She believes that the mental game is as important as the physical portions of the game. How to deal with pressure situations is something that she has lived, studied and believes makes all the difference in how a player/pitcher will perform.  Her goal is to improve a players confidence, form, focus, pitching/batting tunnel vision, performance consistency and sense of teamwork while cultivating an overall respect for the game and their team.
